Weekly Parent Update - Thursday 19th December
Our final week has included a beautiful service this morning led well by our Year 1 and Year 2 children.
Weekly Update from Mr Meehan
As we come to the end of our term, and as we all go our separate ways, to celebrate the holiday together, I am very thankful for the term we have had. Our final week has included Christmas parties, Christmas singing and a beautiful service this morning led well by our Year 1 and Year 2 children. I also enjoyed being with the Year 4 children on Monday, seeing ‘Robin Hood’ at the Rose Theatre, which was enjoyed by all.
A big shout out also to all the children who have been involved in a variety of Christmas musical performances in recent weeks. Our choirs and handbells orchestra have been out and about, performing to different audiences around the area, spreading Christmas cheer!
Thank you to our whole parent community for your continued support over this term, for the school and, most importantly, in supporting your children to achieve well and ‘become the people that God made them to be’.
For those of us who celebrate Christmas, we remember in this season the joy of the angels’ proclamation about the holy birth and their message of hope and peace to the world. In the words of a commonly-used Christian Christmas blessing at this time of year, ‘may the joy of the angels, the eagerness of the shepherds, the perseverance of the wise men, the obedience of Mary and Joseph and the peace of the Christ Child be yours this Christmas’.
In our families and our communities at this time, I pray we may all know some of that same joy and all look to be ‘good news’ to our neighbours in how we live well with each other. I wish you and your families joy, peace and all God's blessing at this time, and I look forward to continuing to work in partnership in 2025.
Autumn Term Reports
We are pleased to be able to share with you your child’s autumn term report, which is now available on Arbor. This is the first time we are sending a report home in the autumn and as well as the teacher's assessment of your child’s attainment, it also includes data from summative assessments for children in Year 2 and up. Whilst we hope that you will find the range of data useful, please remember that the most important data is the assessment given by your child’s class teacher. Unlike the report at the end of the year, this report does not include a comment by Mr Meehan or the class teacher.
The reports can be accessed on Arbor on your:
- Computer: you should be able to access the record of achievement(s) by clicking on the View Student Profile button (green), Report Cards (left hand menu), selecting the report card you would like and the download button (green).
- Phone App: you can access this by selecting the main menu (bottom left, three lines), Report Cards, select the report card you want and the download button (green).
(Whilst you are on Arbor, please check and amend any contact or medical information and review and settle any outstanding payments for trips and events.)
We hope that this report is helpful. We are trialling this, and only want to share it with parents if it is helpful. Therefore, we would welcome any feedback, comments or questions on your child’s autumn term report on the form sent home via email.
