Weekly Parent Update - Friday 25th April

As we begin our new term, our iShare Learning theme is ‘All you Need is Love’, centred around the Bible verse, ‘Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails’. 1 Corinthians 13 vv7-8.
Weekly Update from Mr Meehan
Welcome to the summer term, and I do hope you had some lovely family and friends times over the Easter break. As always, we have a packed and exciting term ahead, and this week our Year 1s have already been out and about at Wisley, and our Year 2s are visiting the National Gallery today.
As we begin our new term, our iShare Learning theme is ‘All you Need is Love’, centred around the Bible verse, ‘Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails’. 1 Corinthians 13 vv7-8. We’ll be reflecting on this more in the coming weeks in our collective worship.
We have enjoyed seeing the impact of our OPAL programme in our playground over recent months. If you would like to know more and understand more about the vision and our next steps, do come to next week’s presentation for parents from our OPAL consultant on the infant site, followed by an opportunity to ‘Stay and Play’ with your infant child in the playground, and enjoy some playtime yourself! This is happening on Friday 2nd May at 9am. There will be a similar opportunity for junior parents at 2:30pm on Friday 23rd May at the junior site.
One of our focuses over this year is developing children’s oracy, which is about giving them confidence in effective communication and use of their voice. Later this term, as part of this focus, we will be launching a poetry recital and story telling competition across the school. More details of this exciting event will follow in future weeks.
In the meantime, have a lovely weekend, and let’s hope that we continue to see more of summer on its way.
