The staff and Governors believe that it is vital that we work in partnership with our parents/carers for the benefit of each child. We are committed to ensuring that these relationships are founded on respect for and from all involved. In this way, we will ensure that we ‘become the people God made us to be.’ As a Voluntary Aided Church School we ask staff and parents/carers to support our Christian values and the principles. We hope this Home/School partnership agreement will give you an understanding of our hopes and aspirations for your children.
We welcome the opportunity of working together in order to enable each child to achieve their full potential.
The School will:
- Care for your child in a happy and safe environment where each child is valued, nurtured and encouraged;
- Motivate and support your child to reach their potential and do their best;
- Provide a balanced, creative and carefully planned curriculum which meets the needs of your child;
- Actively welcome parents/carers into the life of the school and ensure that staff are available to discuss any concerns you might have;
- Communicate clearly about your child’s progress, both to celebrate achievements and to identify next steps;
- Keep you informed about the curriculum and other school activities through regular bulletins and newsletters;
- Provide workshops or talks to help you support your child’s learning;
- Promote good behaviour and involve parents/carers at the earliest opportunity if problems arise;
- Teach children about the safe use of the internet and social media.
Parents/Carers will:
- Make sure that my child attends school regularly and is on time for school, and collected punctually (this will include not booking holidays in term time);
- Contact the school as soon as possible by ParentMail if my child is absent;
- Keep the school informed of any change in address or contact details;
- Support my child in their reading and home learning;
- Make sure my child goes to bed early enough to be well rested has a healthy breakfast so they are ready for learning;
- Attend parent/carer consultation evenings and discussions about my child’s progress;
- Let the school know of any concerns or problems that might affect my child’s work or behaviour;
- Support the school’s policies and guidelines for behaviour and uniform as set out in the parent handbook and on the website;
- Get to know about my child’s life at school by reading newsletters, emails and attending relevant meetings;
- Raise any concerns directly with the school rather than on social media, such as WhatsApp or Facebook.
